Among others associated with Star Trek, we have:

John Billingsley, Robert Duncan McNeill, Anthony Montgomery, Kate Mulgrew, Alan Ruck (tangential, but fun), Dwight Schultz, Garrett Wang, and... drum roll please...

Leonard Nimoy!

Anyone going and need a roomie? :) I waited too long and all the regular and overflow hotels are full.

Great list! Is Nimoy the only representative of the new film?

The only one worth speaking of. (Harsh, but true.) As far as I can tell, there's just this guy:

      www.imdb.com/name/nm0569295/

He played a barracks officer. I don't even remember him. Does anyone remember where he appeared in the movie?

Oh, and there's also Louise Fletcher (Kai Winn, and Nurse Ratched, which I'm embarrassed I didn't know) and Richard Herd (Tom Paris's dad).

I think he's the officer assigning ship duties - Kirk goes to him and finds out he's on suspension.

Enrika, I would totally share a room with you but my days of going to DC are past I fear. Especially since I now need a passport to enter the US from Alaska and mine has expired!

The last year I went (2007) at DC we did a girls room and a boys room, me with two female friends at the Hyatt and hubby stayed with his two buddies at an off site hotel. It was so much more fun that way - wish I could join you :)

You do? I didn't know that. Does that mean you're trapped in Alaska?

I wish you could join me, too. But if I can't find a place to stay, *I* won't be joining me. :)

Do you want me to ask around the DDS (www.daalasdeathsquad.net/) to see if any ladies going to DC this year have room??

And yes, I am currently "TRAPPED in Alaska" (sounds like a bad TV movie); new laws went into effect June 1:

"new US Department of Homeland Security travel requirements that go into effect 6/1. U.S. citizens will now be required to show proof citizenship with either a US Passport, US Passport Card, or enhanced Drivers License when reentering the US. This includes Canada and Mexico. This includes reentry by air, land, or sea. www.cbp.gov/xp/cgov/trav.../land_travel/ "

Time to update/renew my passport I guess!

But Alaska's not a foreign country. If you fly from Juneau to Seattle, provided that you don't make a pit stop in Canada, you're never entering another country except for their airspace. Surely that doesn't count? Besides, everything on that web page says "by land or sea."

"Do you want me to ask around the DDS (www.daalasdeathsquad.net/) to see if any ladies going to DC this year have room??"

                  HELL YES! PLEASE!! :)

And before I totally hijack this thread, I am sad I can't go. I have done the Miss Klingon Empire contest before, and though I didn't win, I highly recommend attending. heck I'll bet Kate Mulgrew might be on the judges panel this year. She is so NICE!!!

          Check out the photo-op prices:

          www.froggysphotos.com/faq.html

I'd LOVE to get my picture taken with William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, and Patrick Stewart, but that would cost me $360, plus tax. I just don't know that I can justify that. I can get my picture taken with Bruce Boxleitner and Claudia Christian *together* for $65. That I can justify.

I was just at FanExpo in Toronto, Ontario CANADA on Saturday; I have finally concluded getting the autographs of the Classic TREK members (except Gene and DeForest). I missed Leonard at a show in Dearborn, Michigan 8 years ago by 10 minutes, but this weekend I had 10 minutes with Leonard. It was 60 dollars per autograph, I had 5 things to get signed- then only 5 dollars for a quick picture in the vicinity of Leonard; it seems most actors/actresses have gotten paranoid about having fans come directly next to them for a once in a lifetime image. Happy, also did catch Walter Koenig and Avery Brooks; been a long time since seeing either. Felt good to be out in the Federation Black/Grey uniform again, not many 'Feddies' out and around at this show. I have had direct contact with Patrick many years ago and would just enjoy seeing him again.

I do miss the conventions, but by the mid afternoon of the show I was at, getting way too crowded, a few guests were only 'meet and greet' = no autographs, no pictures. I wish the people we go to see would reconsider and take into account we do support their works not just by going to the movies, watching the DVD's or television shows, and we would pay (modestly) for their time for an autograph. Sadly, it seems we are still moving towards a Ferengi society.... I was very pleased to have at least 10 minutes with Len Wein, Avery Brooks, Walter Koenig and Leonard Nimoy on August 29, 2009. Heck, I even had my own admiration society for one of the last Admirals from Star Fleet.......

Enjoy your chance opportunities, when our friends leave us, all we keep are our memories : )
