I was somewhat young when Star Trek premiered, but my folks seemed to be heavy into watching them. Also, I knew other folks who watched. So, I watched a lot.
What I find fascinating is how some of the imagery showed up in my early nightmares and fevered imagination.
For example (yoinked from the other thread), I used to have nightmares about the woman who had no face from "Charlie X." I found myself in her place, suffocating, trying to scream, but unable to do anything, just to blindly grope my way around until I died.
I used to also have nightmares that I later realized came from imagery in "Empath." Images of people being suspended in the air and tortured for no discernible reason. I would dream I couldn't help them, that they cried out for me, but that I couldn't do anything, couldn't say anything.
